St. Mary Edir is a nonprofit self-help association created to support members and their families during bereavement by helping coordinate funeral services, religious rites, transportation, and community support.

About St. Mary Edir
St. Mary Edir was established to help grieving families organize a proper funeral ceremony in a timely manner and to lessen the financial burden that can come with funeral arrangements and transportation of the body.
The Edir also promotes collective mourning, member participation, spiritual support, and coordination with Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo churches in Minnesota.

Membership
Membership is open to eligible adults who accept the St. Mary Edir bylaws and membership responsibilities. Family membership may include a spouse and registered children under age twenty-six.

Registration amounts for new members joining after the Edir's formation are subject to the time-based formula stated in the bylaws.
Governance
St. Mary Edir is governed through its General Assembly, Board of Directors, Executive leadership, Auditors, and Board of Trustees.
