A Minnesota nonprofit self-help association centered on faith, funeral support, collective mourning, and helping families through bereavement.
Why St. Mary Edir Exists
The Edir was founded to help grieving families arrange a proper funeral ceremony in a timely manner and to help reduce the financial burden associated with funeral services and transporting a deceased member to a final resting place.
Its objectives also include informing members when a member dies, coordinating with Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Churches in Minnesota, encouraging members to console grieving families, and facilitating priests, religious rites, scripture, hymns, prayers, and funeral processions.

Organization
The bylaws identify St. Mary Edir as a nonprofit organization in the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, established for an indefinite period.
